DIY Painted Kitchen Cabinets

I moved from the city to a suburb recently. With the economy the way it is we got a great deal on a home. There are however several updated that need to be done. The kitchen cabinets were horrible. They had a laminate finish that was totally 70's and never updated or taken care of. So, I decided to take a project on that I had never done. Here is the before and after of my kitchen cabinets. They went from a dirty yellow or more the look of nicotine stained until I decided to paint them a glossy white.

Eureka 4-1 Stick Vacuum

I think I made the best purchase of my life. The Eureka 4-1 stick vacuum. It only cost $15.00 bucks at Walmart. I have a dog that sheds a ton of hair and I am really tired of dragging out my way to heavy vacuum. I saw it in the paper on sale for all the college kids to take to school. Anyway...I love it. Very light, suction is good the wire could be a bit longer. That's my two cents. I bought mine at Walmart. I don't know how long or if the price will stay at $15.00

Recession Home Makeover

Here you have a before and after of an Ikea dresser. Instead of purchasing a new dresser after redecorating my room. I saved a ton of money. I added trim purchased at a local home store glued it on then primed and painted.

I have a habit not saying it's a bad habit but I tend to have this need to visit every resale shop or garage sale that's in the immediate area of my home. Once in a while I do come across a find like this.
